Better late than never but
happy new year to all.
I have been away, like a lot
of others I guess, over the last few weeks and have had
a bit of spare time on my hands in between surfing,
taking a few photos and just kicking back.
With the spare time I decided
to compile a selection of images from my trip to the
Maldives last year into an ePub (online book) of 100
pages. So for those of you who are interested CLICK
HERE or click on the image below and it will take
you there.

This Weeks
Images
I have been
enjoying the quiet time of the last few weeks so have
not been shooting much but did manage a few images. I
have included some below. Some from around Cronulla and
some from the South Coast.

Between Christmas
and New Year I took myself off for a stroll around
Cronulla to work of the Christmas pudding and came
across this clinker steam boat sitting on the low tide
sand just near Darook Park. Someone has done a
remarkable job restoring this boat and it does get used
as I have seen it putting around the bay.

A little further
along on my stroll I came across these flowers at Oak
Park. They are usually only like this for a couple of
weeks a year and I have shot them before but usually
always just on sunrise. This image was shot late in the
day and the afternoon light does show the flowers off
better.

This is the last
image I have included from my Cronulla stroll and it
shows a near perfect wave breaking around Shark Island.
If you look closely you can see Andy King sitting on the
shoulder. He had been out there most of the afternoon
pretty much by himself scoring some of the best waves he
has had in awhile.
For those
interested the three images above were shot using a
Canon Powershot G12.

This shot of Alan
Smith is the last image from around Cronulla for this
email. It was shot just on sunrise at North Cronulla
with Canon 7D, a 8-15mm fisheye lens in a Aquatech
housing mounted on a pole to get the height above the
wave.

Burrill Beach just
south of Ulladulla lit by a full moon. This image was
shot around 9 pm using a Canon 1Ds MkIII camera with a
24-105mm lens at 24mm and a 2 minute
exposure.

Isaac Fields was
down from his home at Evans Head staying with me on the
south coast. We managed to jag some perfect loggin waves
with just Isaac and Tom Bennett, the son of Isaac's
sponsor, the only ones out on the beach behind my
house.

Tom and Isaac head
down the beach.

Isaac on his last
wave of the morning. Ten over.
